Issue/Disposition: The defendant was a plumber who damaged a 100+ year old tree while replacing sewer lines during a remodeling project. The remodeling company was claiming damages of $500,000-$1,000,000 as a result of the alleged gross negligence and deceptive trade practices of the plumber. Another attorney had this case for two years, before the Firm was hired to try the case a few weeks before trial.  Despite clear liability by the plumber in damaging the roots of the tree, after a five-day trial, the jury returned a complete defense verdict.
