Defended Local Summer Camp Against Charges Related to Molestation By a Counselor

Dec 7, 2018

Jurisdiction: Bexar County, Texas
Issues/Disposition: Plaintiffs alleged that their minor son was molested at a summer camp.  Plaintiffs were represented by one of the most well-known plaintiffs’ attorneys in the state and were seeking damages in excess of $30,000,000 for past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering and mental anguish.  The alleged molester had admitted to the molestation in an earlier and highly publicized criminal trial.  The issue of the case was determining the camp’s responsibility.  After a two-week trial, the jury placed 95% of the responsibility for the molestation on the part of the perpetrator and determined that the camp was only fractionally responsible for the molestation.
