Issues/Disposition: The plaintiffs in this case were a wealthy and famous music producer and his wife who contracted with defendants to build their mansion in Austin, Texas. Plaintiffs’ alleged damages in excess of $1,000,000 as a result of faulty construction by the defendants.  As a result of coverage issues in this case, we were not brought into the case until the eve of arbitration after all discovery had been conducted.  Despite clear liability on the part of the defendants and issues with the prior defense of the case by defendants’ personal counsel, including not naming responsible third parties, the case was settled for $115,000 after the arbitration began and our cross examination of the plaintiffs.
